A true international director, Philippe André splits his time between Paris, London and LA.
Before learning the tools of the trade at the ESRA film school, Philippe studied music at the Paris Conservatory, an education that he still uses today to find his heady soundtracks. He began his career directing short films and designing logos for the Museum of Modern Art and the Pompidou Center in Paris.
In the 90’s he directed many award winning music videos for such artists Placebo, All Saints, Texas, Youssou’n’Dour, Morcheeba, Dido and Faithless in the UK, Roger Sanchez in the US and Ute Lemper, Alain Souchon, Chamfort, Emilie Simon and Zazie in France. Many of his music videos have been shown at the American Cinematheque in Hollywood.
Commercials quickly followed with such hits as the Peugeot 407 Toys for BETC, which won over 20 awards worldwide including a Gold Lion in Cannes and films for Ford, Peugeot, Renault, Persil (Silver Lion), Airtel (Bronze Lion), Orange and others.
His two short films The Rope and Song To Say Goodbye traveled the world in film festivals. The Rope won for Best Narrative and Grand Jury Prize at the Seattle Film Festival.
Philippe has a unique talent for mixing great actor direction, stunning special effects and a tune that will keep you humming long after the spot is over. Philippe is working on his first feature film.
