We are very pleased to announce our new director signing Mat Landour who joins Wanda from Nexus where he was one half of FX and Mat.

Mat studied Applied Arts and then at France’s renowned Supinfocom Institute of Animation and Design where he directed his first animated short film, the tango love story En Tus Brazos.  The film won many awards internationally and had the great honor of being screened during the World Tango Championships in Buenos Aires.

A passionate story teller and creator of breathtaking and poetic environments, Mat’s work in 2D and 3D character animation is frequently awarded and he is devoted to exploring new approaches to film making, from live action, to stop frame, to mixed media to puppets and even cross stitch animation!

Mat’s most recent and first solo commercial is a delightful 2D spot for KIA with INNOCEAN, Sydney.  Prior to this he has delivered notable commercials for TROPICANA with DDB New York, the esteemed 2011 COCA COLA SUPERBOWL SIEGE with WIEDEN & KENNEDY Portland, TNT with Y&R Amsterdam, INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE with COLE & WEBBER US and CRISIS with SAPIENT London.

Mat fuels his passion for filmmaking by directing shorts alongside his commercial work.  His latest, a live action film entitled, The Elaborate End of Robert Ebb was given the Canal Plus award at the prestigious 2012 Clermont Ferrand Film Festival.

DANIELS SIGN THIRD COLLABORATION WITH FOSTER THE PEOPLE

The fruitful collaboration continues between DANIELS directors Daniel Kwan and Schneider and Foster The People. In fact, the video Houdini was actually shot a year ago, before their video for Don’t Stop, but the record label held it back until now due to the success of the Foster The People album. The soon to be released third collaboration is a video commercial for Converse featuring three artists : Mark Foster from Foster The People, A Trak and Kimbra.

Wanda took home all three prizes at this year’s Clio Awards. Gold for Amnesty « Projection » by Wilfrid Brimo with La Chose (agency) in the Film Craft Category. Silver for the Amnesty « Bulletproof » application by Wilfrid Brimo with La Chose in the Interactive Category. Bronze for Dior « J’Adore » by Jean-Jacques Annaud, starring Charlize Theron, with TBWA Paris in the Film Craft Category. Wanda was also shortlisted with Evian « Baby Inside » by the Legs with BETC Paris in the Film Category and for Volkswagen « Hedgehog » by Akama with Agence V in the Film Craft Category.

The French Advertisers’ Union has awarded its Gold Phenix to the Contrex Contrexperienc campaign. Orchestrated by Agence Marcel and ZenithOptimedia the transmedia campaign included online content, radio spots and a very popular TVC directed by Xavier Mairesse and produced by Wanda, all focused on the message that loosing weight would be easier if it was more fun. The film shows a street event where woman pedaled on stationary bikes to power a giant neon male stripper, it has generated over 22 Million online views and 90 000 Facebook fans so far!

Born in the UK and brought up in New Zealand, Leo’s commercials career has quickly risen to meteoric heights since it kicked off in 2009. His work reveals a great skill for comic timing and for conveying absurd humour while traversing the genres of performance, cars, stunts and special effects. Leo’s cinematic influences reach far and wide from Wes Anderson to Terry Gilliam to Martin Scorcese. These influences inform the considerable range evident in his work. In this new commercial for Axe Anarchy shower gel, Wilfrid Brimo and Buzzman give the Axe Effect a fresh spin. The essentials of an Axe shoot were all there: busloads of beautiful women unleashed on a magnificent deserted beach and an actor playing an ordinary young man trying to capture their attention thanks to Axe. But this time, no actor tickled the client’s attention as much as our own Production Manager, Aurélien Drosne, who took his first steps as an actor with real natural talent. As for the rest of the shoot, let’s just say that what happened on Temptation Island, stays on Temptation Island…
